Eagles soar high as they beat Iceland 2-0
Nigeria Super Eagles sits on the second position in group D after trashing Iceland 2-0. Ahmed Musa got a brace putting Nigeria ahead in the 49th minute and scored the second in the 75th minute.
However Iceland had the opportunity to have gotten themselves a consolation goal in the 83rd minute when they were awarded a spot kick by the referee, but Gylfi Sigurdsson failed to find the back of the net and the ball went high over the cross bar.
Eagles will play their final group match on Tuesday 26th of June as they do battle against an Argentine side who have only managed to gain one point out two games. Drew 1-1 against Iceland and lost 0-3 against Croatia as Mess is yet to score a goal in the World Cup.
